Our school library is accessible to all students and staff, with welcoming spaces led by a certified school librarian who provides relevant instruction, leadership, and resources to develop students' skills in critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.

Our library values access, inquiry, literacy, collaboration, privacy, and equity. We support staff and students by connecting them with high-quality resources and instruction to enhance their learning.
We provide the following services to support learning:
- Instruction - Students learn how to responsibly use and evaluate resources, information, and technology tools.
- Access to resources - Students check out library books or access digital resources that meet their academic needs or help them explore their interests.
- Reader’s Advisory - Get suggestions for which book to read next, or which resources to use for a project.

WES Library Mission
The mission of the Wakefield Elementary School Media Center is to provide a library media program which enables students to become effective users of information and technology as well as instill a love of reading that will empower students to become lifelong readers. The library program will strive to enable students to access, analyze, assimilate, and use information preparing them to become productive citizens in our constantly evolving world.
