Will Transition to a Traditional Calendar for 2015-2016.
The WCPSS School Board voted to transition Wakefield Elementary from a
multi-track year-round calendar to a traditional calendar for the 2015-2016
school year. As we learn more details about this exciting change, we will
keep all families informed via our website, our Twitter account, and the

Dot Day: September 15, 2014
Wakefield Elementary will be celebrating
International Dot Day again this year! We are encouraging all our students
to "make their mark" and see where it takes them. One way our
students can make a mark is by helping others. We have a giant dot on
the stage in the gym and we'd like to see if we can fill it up with donations
of canned foods. We're also collecting school supplies to help a school
in Guatemala that greatly needs them.

School Art Program
KidzArt will begin offering an after-school program at Wakefield Elementary
every Monday from 4:00-5:00. Register at www.NorthRaleigh.KidzArt.com
If you were approved as a volunteer
for the 2013-2014 school year and you wish to volunteer again in 2014-2015,
you must reactivate your registration by October 31, 2014. After
this date, a registration request will require a new criminal background
